STAND OUT FOR GOOD

Feeding the Soul

October 22, 2019
This season, 10% of Monday’s net proceeds will be given to organizations focused on fighting homelessness & feeding the hungry. Below are stories of how standing out for good can greatly impact the ones around you.
At Altar'd State, we want to spread love and provide warm meals. Throughout the year, we partner with Second Harvest Food Bank to enrich the lives of hundreds of families in East Tennessee. Last year, we teamed up to donate over 214,875 meals to families in need.

“Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee is proud to partner with Altar’d State. Altar’d State’s dedication to the food bank and those that we serve is amazing, not only do they support our programs monetarily, but they are champion volunteers as well, putting in hundreds of hours to serve the hungry of East Tennessee. We look forward to many more years of collaboration on ending hunger in East Tennessee.” –Shelley, Development Manager of Second Harvest

41 million people, including 13 million children in the United States, are faced with hunger. Each store partners with an organization that helps feed the hungry every Christmas season. At the home office, we joined hands and hearts with KARM (Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries) to provide Thanksgiving meals to those families who would otherwise go without.

Jessica, a home office associate, donated her time to this incredible organization. When volunteers were needed to pack Thanksgiving meals for KARM, she had only just started working with Altar’d State. Not only was it amazing for her to get to be hands on with helping in her new community, but it gave her a great opportunity to meet the other incredible people volunteering.

Since living and working in Tennessee was new to Jessica at the time, seeing so many people jump in to support local families gave her a true sense of love and selflessness! Despite missing her own family during the holidays, she felt at home knowing she was surrounded by good people who were taking care of those families with lots of extra love and care – and that is always something to be thankful for.
Without you, we would not be able to impact the lives around us and give warmth to those in need!
